8-14 Nisan Dünya Sağlık Haftası – Bilge Hastanesi
dünya sağlık haftası

The Constitution of the World Health Organization (WHO) entered into force on April 7, 1948 with the approval of 26 member countries after the interim commission chaired by Prof. Dr. Andrija Stampar completed all its work. April 7, the date of entry into force of the WHO Constitution, is celebrated every year as 'World Health Day'.

Health is defined as a state of complete mental, physical and social well-being. The concept of health cannot be replaced or measured with any concept in our lives. For healthy societies, first of all, the smallest building block of society must be healthy. In our age, we need to know the diseases that pose a threat to our health well and be knowledgeable about them.

Cardiovascular diseases (48% of NCDs), cancers (21%), chronic respiratory diseases (12%) and diabetes (3.5%) are among the non-communicable diseases (NCDs) categorized by the World Health Organization as the biggest public health problem of the 21st century. These diseases are considered among the biggest killers in the world. In 2008, more than 36 million people (63% of deaths worldwide) died due to NCDs. We need to know the risk factors well and take precautions to protect ourselves from this group of diseases, which is such an important health problem and cause of death. The main modifiable risk factors are unbalanced diet, lack of physical activity, excessive salt consumption, tobacco and alcohol use.
